African Bush Camps’ Khwai Leadwood Under Thatch, a chalet camp, and Khwai Tented Camp, a mobile camp, both in Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana, have undergone changes.
Both camps are part of the community-run Khwai Concession.
Khwai Leadwood Under Thatch will move to a new permanent location in the park on the Tsaro Concession in the Khwai Community Area and will open in May. The four standard and two family chalets offer thatched accommodation and have private en-suite bathrooms.
Khwai Tented Camp is on the banks of a lagoon flowing into the Khwai River where it will remain for 2017. The camp will open in April. Its six tents are perched on wooden decking and overlook the lagoon. The tents have been upgraded to be more spacious and modern, with private bathrooms with running water.
Khwai Leadwood Under Thatch will form part of the African Bush Camps family camps, replacing the 2017 plans for Khwai Leadwood Tented Camp, which was planned as a tented camp, but was delayed due to environmental permits.
Both camps will move to the new site on the Khwai River in 2018.
