Wilderness Safaris will close DumaTau camp in the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve for upgrades from November 2019 until August 2020.
The company will also introduce Little DumaTau, an exclusive camp featuring four tented suites. Both camps are expected to open in August 2020.
Little DumaTau will be situated north of DumaTau and between the camps will be a new wellness space and spa. There will also be a fire deck and outdoor Star Bed where guests can sleep under the stars.
As both camps will be part of the Premier portfolio, the enhancements include doubling the size of the rooms to feature a lounge, larger bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers, and new ventilation and cooling systems.
Each of the eight tented suites at DumaTau and four tents at Little DumaTau will have an expansive deck and plunge pool. The main area will have its own fire pit, dining area and a ‘curiosity room’, where guests can read about the history and research across the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve.
Activities at the camps include morning, afternoon and night game drives, boating excursions, nature walks and birding opportunities. Guests will also able to experience a helicopter flight as an optional extra activity.
