The Snake Pit has opened in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.
It houses a wide range of deadly snakes, including mambas, cobras, vipers and rattlesnakes and is also home to other reptiles including albino crocodile, giant frogs and lizards.
Manager, Rina Greenland, says the owner of the park had been collecting snakes from the age of six and now has about 45 different snakes.
“At the Snake Pit, we allow visitors to hold the snakes and take pictures. We have an experienced guide who is knowledgeable about all the snakes.”
Opening hours are 08h30 to 17h00, with demonstrations taking place at 14h30 daily. Guided tours are available.
Earlier this year, a snake park also opened close to the railway line in the CBD.
