The first Pan-African Health Tourism Congress will be held over two days, from June 8-9, at the Umfolozi Casino Convention Resort in Empangeni, KwaZulu Natal.
The issue of immigration concerns, especially with regard to visas, will be addressed and health tourism-related topics will include an Asian Case Study: steps to enabling African tourism destinations to become Health Tourism Destinations; the impacts of a borderless Africa on Medical Health Tourism; and why South Africa should develop Health Tourism (including Medical Tourism).
Some of the local speakers are Ndabo Khoza, CEO of Tourism KwaZulu-Natal; Enver Duminy, CEO of Cape Town Tourism; Gillian Saunders, Deputy CEO of Grant Thornton in Johannesburg and Head of Advisory Services in South Africa; and Darryl Erasmus, Chief Quality Assurance Officer of the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa.
Some of the international speakers include Annagrazia Laura, President of the European Network for Accessible Tourism; Constantine Constantinides, M.D., Ph.D., Director, healthCare cybernetics SG, Global Healthcare Travel Council; and Layla Al-Marzouqi, Director Dubai Health Authority Medical Tourism Programme.
