The InterContinental Hotel Lusaka is undergoing a major renovation that will see it split into two brands in a two-phase project.
Didier Coeln, General Manager, InterContinental Hotel Lusaka, said: “The hotel will be undergoing an extensive renovation to ensure that we remain on a par with the updated brand standards for InterContinental and that we maintain the grandeur of the hotel.”
Phase one will see a wing of the hotel revamped over ten months, and on completion, rebranding as Holiday Inn.
In phase two, the remaining wing will see the InterContinental upgraded to become a new and modern facility. The timeline for this phase is yet to be determined.
“One wing with 117 rooms is still operational, including all food and beverage outlets and meeting rooms.“ said Veronica Simubali-Mumba, Public Relations Manager.
Coeln added: “My team and I are working on measures to ensure that we minimise the inconvenience to our guests staying at our hotel, or having meetings and accessing any of the hotel facilities during the renovation period.”
