Air Mauritius’s new Airbus A340 began servicing the Cape Town route twice a week on March 28.
The service operates every Wednesday and Sunday, departing Cape Town at 22h05 and arriving in Mauritius at 05h10. The return flight departs Mauritius at 16h15 and arrives in Cape Town at 20h20. The schedule allows passengers to maximise their time in Mauritius.
Carla da Silva, Regional Manager: Southern Africa and Latin America of Air Mauritius, says the new aircraft has quickly become very popular and that the Cape Town route is one of the most strategic for the airline.
Da Silva says an additional slot has been confirmed, which will increase the service to a three-times-a-week schedule from October 28. The flights have already been loaded in the system for forward bookings.
The airline hopes to further increase the schedule during 2019, says Da Silva.
