Following a series of safety inspections at Kwajoni Airstrip in northern Tanzania, Coastal Aviation has announced that the airstrip will be closed for extensive maintenance between August 27 and September 16. The airline will re-route flights to nearby Tanga Airport.
Tanga is between one-and-a-half to two hours’ drive from Kwajoni and requires crossing the Pangani River using a ferry. Gabriele Manzoni, Marketing Manager at Coastal Aviation, confirmed to Tourism Update that all properties in Pangani were aware of the changes and would change their arrangements for guests to be picked up and dropped off in Tanga.
