Troubled national carrier South African Airways is partly pinning its hopes of a turnaround in operational efficiency on its new fleet of Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
The first flight on one of the newly acquired aircraft took off from Johannesburg to Cape Town on December 24.
Flight SA 323 departed Johannesburg for Cape Town at 10h00. Return flight SA336 arrived back in Johannesburg at 16h00.
The four new Airbus A350-900s acquired by SAA are expected to improve the airline’s customer offering and commercial prospects.
