To expedite the movement of tourists and increase visitor numbers, Botswana and Namibia are set to join the Kavango-Zambezi (KAZA) Transfrontier Conservation Area (TFCA) Uni-Visa system before the end of the year. The TFCA is a wildlife conservation area that covers Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, Angola and Namibia.
The KAZA Uni-Visa was introduced as a pilot project between Zambia and Zimbabwe during the UNWTO General Assembly in 2013.
“Botswana and Namibia have indicated their interest to joint KAZA Uni-Visa and are currently carrying out in-country consultations. It is our sincere hope that both countries will conclude these processes and join before end of year,” said Godfrey Mtare, KAZA TFCA representative in Zimbabwe.
Angola is also expected to join soon. Mtare said the cost of the Uni-Visa would be announced once all countries had joined.
