Responding to news that South African Tourism was implementing several changes to the Meetings Africa 2023 formula, Helen Brewer, Founder of The MICE Academy, had this to say:

“The SANCB improvements are commendable, especially the innovative recovery package. It would be equally of major benefit to have a mechanism whereby the actual bookings confirmation generated primarily from Meetings Africa could be incorporated within the improvements.

“Exhibitions, especially within the MICE industry, do not end at the completion of the exhibition. The aftermath is the starting point for numerous dialogues and ultimate confirmations which could quite conceivably take a further year to the next exhibition to calculate and finalise. Meetings Africa is not alone in this challenge, yet the advantages in actual hard-core outcomes would be invaluable.”
