Botswana’s Ministry of Environment and Tourism has issued a public notice about restricted access to Chobe National Park and Moremi Game Reserve due to heavy rainfall and flooding.

In Chobe National Park, the Ghoba-Linyanti and the Savuti Marsh routes are currently inaccessible and have been temporarily closed for safety purposes. The Phoba area is entirely inaccessible. Visitors are advised to use alternative routes.

In Moremi Game Reserve, where most roads are flooded, extreme caution is advised. Only the Khwai and Third Bridge bridges remain usable while all others are closed. An assessment of the reserve’s condition is ongoing. Further closures may be implemented if necessary.

The Department of Wildlife and National Parks is actively monitoring the situation and will provide updates as conditions change.

Visitors are urged to stay informed and exercise caution when planning travel to these areas.
