Azura Retreats has acquired Marlin Lodge on Benguerra Island, Mozambique.
The hotel is undergoing development and will open as Azura Marlin Beach later in the year.
Marlin Lodge closed after a fire in 2012, which destroyed the main area and some of the rooms.
Azura is working with existing infrastructure to redevelop the property into a new five-star boutique hotel. It will completely refurb 10 family villas, which feature two bedrooms and a pool, and nine individual beachfront villas.
The property will also receive a new front of house, water sports and spa areas, and the main pool area will be refreshed.
Ten new rooms will be added, bringing capacity to 20 rooms and over 50 beds.
Development on Azura Marlin Beach will be completed by the middle of this year and bookings are already available.
