The River Club in Observatory, Cape Town, now under new ownership, has undergone a refurbishment that includes newly designed interiors, a black and white exterior, new contemporary conferencing spaces, an extended golf offering and a new restaurant and a kiddies’ club.
The 90-bay driving range, putting facilities and chipping green, as well as the nine-hole, par 27 mashie course, have been retained. Renovations were made to the changing rooms, Pro Shop and 27 weather cover bays were re-fitted.
The new River Rascals Club is a supervised indoor and outdoor play area where children of three and over are entertained.
The new Slug & Lettuce has opened as the club’s public restaurant. The menu offers breakfast, lunch and dinner with snacks in between at an adjacent bar. Ongoing weekly specials and events such as a comedy night are also on offer.
For conferencing, there are eight rooms of various sizes – all fitted with the latest AV technology and WiFi – that can accommodate catered functions ranging from board meetings and networking sessions, to conferences, banquets and celebrations.
The River Club is 15 minutes from the city centre, the airport and southern suburbs.
