The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) downgraded Kenya from Level 2: Moderate Risk to Level 1: Low Risk on September 12.
To be listed Level 1: Low Risk, a destination must have had 49 or fewer new cases per 100 000 residents over the past 28 days.
The West African nation of Togo also moved down to Level 1.
Regardless of the risk classification levels, the CDC still recommends that travellers are up to date with their vaccines before travelling internationally.
