Qantas is adding private and small-group tour packages to its Qantas Holidays product range, with destinations such as South Africa, Egypt, the Maldives and Sri Lanka, and Japan now available.
Qantas Tours allows travellers to book travel experiences designed to showcase the best of each destination, with expert tour operators managing the planning and logistics.
The packages include Qantas Airways or partner flights, premium accommodation and detailed itineraries led by a local guide.
Among the 10 packages is a tour of South Africa. The 11-day South Africa Explorer tour offers travellers the opportunity to see some of the country’s wildlife in its natural habitat and to explore Cape Town.
The package includes return flights with Qantas or one of the oneworld alliance partner airlines, accommodation at four-star hotels and a five-star lodge, daily breakfast, all meals while on safari and up to six game drives.
It begins in Johannesburg, where travellers will stay at the Protea by Marriott Hotel OR Tambo (or similar). They then travel to the Pilanesberg Game Reserve and stay at the five-star Shepard’s Tree Game Lodge, where they will enjoy up to six game drives over the course of their stay.
On the sixth day of the tour, travellers fly to Cape Town from OR Tambo. In Cape Town they will stay at The Commodore Hotel (or similar), where they will go on a half-day tour of the city and a full-day tour of the Peninsula, among other activities.
Travellers then return to Australia from Cape Town.
The South Africa Explorer tour is available to book for AUD5 799 (€3 762) per person from May 29, 2023 until March 11, 2024.
In addition to the 10 packages that Qantas Tours has already launched, it plans to expand its tour offering still further in the coming months.
