The Desert Grace, part of the Gondwana Collection Namibia, will open on November 1. Located 60km north of Sesriem, the lodge comprises 20 double rooms and four family units, each with a private plunge pool, fridge, safe and tea/coffee facilities.
Built using an environmentally friendly design, the main building material includes sandbags filled on site. The natural material provides good sound and thermal insulation qualities.
The Desert Grace has its own water recycling plant and uses mostly solar powered energy. The walkways use recycled glass that glints in the sunlight, offering guests the illusion of walking on stars.
Activities include a Dune Drive, offering guests the chance to discover the natural wonders of the Namib Desert. Guests can also join a guided half-day trip to the Sossusvlei or enjoy an e-bike tour, night walks and walking trails in the vicinity of the lodge.
