The Kogelberg Nature Reserve has reopened to the public following a fire that broke out in the Overberg region and Elgin in the Western Cape, according to CapeNature.
CapeNature said the reopening of the reserve included reopening all accommodation, the Palmiet trail and the Oudebosch trails, but excluded the Kogelberg trail and Mountain Bike trail.
“The Kogelberg trail will remain closed due to heatwave conditions and the Mountain Bike trail turnaround is too close to the contained fire line. We will advise once these trails are reopened,” CapeNature said in a statement.
