The Government of Tanzania has announced plans to commence direct flights from Mwanza International Airport to London.
Tanzania Transport Minister, Isaac Kamwelwe, said plans were under way to revamp the country’s national carrier, and initiate international flights from the port city, to London, as well as China and India.
“We are at an advanced stage to start direct flights to Europe from Mwanza,” said Kamwelwe. He said the government was planning to introduce direct flights to strategic business destinations and gave the example of Israel, which has at least 40 000 tourists visiting Tanzania every year.
