Concord Group of Hotels has announced a major revamp of Shelly Beach Hotel in Likoni, Mombasa.
Concord Hotel Director, Mohamed Idris, said the facility would be able to accommodate 600 to 800 guests. Renovations have started with the restaurant, swimming pools, bar, and 36 rooms. It is expected to be operational by June.
“We are targeting [the Mombasa Waterfront on] Mama Ngina Drive, which is also being refurbished. Once it is complete, we will be the nearest hotel, sitting just opposite it,” he said.
This comes after the Mombasa County tourism department, in partnership with the local community in Likoni, began reviving Shelly Beach – the second largest public beach in the coastal hub as a tourist destination.
