New for July 2017 Natural Selection adds a fourth SkyBed to the already successful sleep out experience in the Khwai Private Reserve. Couples and families with children 12 and over can spend a night sleeping out under the stars.
The SkyBeds are a 5.5m high platform set close to a water hole in the game rich Khwai Private Reserve. The ‘’room’’ for the night is a bed draped in a mosquito night so guests can look up to the stars above. Illuminated by solar lights and with a bathroom with flushing toilets on the first floor the family SkyBed has everything guests need for a night in the wild. Up to two children can be accommodated on roll out mattresses. This is as close to nature as you can get!
The Skybeds overlook a water hole—in one night we’ve seen wild dogs, lions, elephants and hyena! Guests will both see and hear elephants, eland, zebra and kudu, and an assortment of smaller nocturnal species, such as porcupines, bushbabies, genets, jackals and honey badgers during the night. We can’t guarantee that guests will get much sleep, as there will be far too much to watch and listen to, but what a story to tell back home. During the day, you can head out for a game drive in the private reserve, where you may spy lion, leopard, wild dog, kudu, waterbuck, red lechwe, eland, impala, roan, buffalo, warthog and much more.
Rates at SkyBeds start at $345 per person per night.
