Luxury lodge collective Natural Selection has announced it will open a new camp in the northern Okavango Delta in April 2025 in collaboration with Uncharted Africa.
Located in the private NG12 concession, the 100% solar-powered Mbamba Camp will feature 12 air-conditioned luxury canvas tents (four double, six twin and two family units) positioned among large leadwood trees. Each tent will feature a spacious en-suite bathroom and a private verandah.
The main area will include two lounges, a small library, a swimming pool, dining area and firepit.
Rates will include game drives (the concession is known to be a top denning area for wild dogs and boasts a high concentration of lion), night drives and mokoro safaris (depending on water levels).
The guiding team at Mbamba have been trained by safari expert Ralph Bousfeld, winner of Tatler Travel’s 2023 Best Safari Guide in Africa Award.
Helicopter flights and trips to the Tsodilo Hills UNESCO World Heritage Site will be offered at an additional cost.
Adjoining the Moremi Game Reserve, NG12 is an 89 000ha concession including Natural Selection’s Uncharted Africa Duke’s Camp and Duke’s East. The unusually large size of the concession, with limited human impact and a vast abundance of wildlife, ensures guests enjoy a wild and untouched corner of the Okavango Delta.
In addition to a rich variety of game, the concession is also home to more than 350 bird species.
