Ashtons Shuttles & Transfers has introduced a new premier shuttle service from Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport to Manyeleti and the Kruger Park’s Orpen Gate, arriving in the early/mid-afternoon, effective December 1.
The daily service provides transfers to five scheduled shuttle locations: the Guernsey Boom Gate on the R40; Guernsey Boom Gate on R531 Orpen Road; Timbavati Safari Lodge Gate; Southern African Wildlife College Gate; and Manyeleti Game Reserve Gate.
Clients can be collected at the drop-off location by their accommodation facility or safari operation and must make the arrangements with the establishments in advance.
Ashtons has operated daily scheduled shuttle services between OR Tambo and the greater Hoedspruit area for the past 10 years, transferring over 90 000 people and offering seven shuttle pick-up/drop-off locations to the north and east of Hoedspruit and in the town itself. It services the lodges and accommodation facilities south and east of Hoedspruit via add-on transfer services that dovetail with its scheduled shuttle services.
“With the growing number of accommodation facilities in this area, we recently identified the opportunity to provide an additional five shuttle pick-up/drop-off locations between Hoedspruit town and Manyeleti/Orpen Gate and overnight our drivers in that area,” says Andrew Iles, CEO of Ashtons Shuttles & Transfers.
He says the new pick-up/drop-off locations are convenient for a large number of lodges and accommodation facilities and the nett result is a far more affordable overall transfer cost for their guests and staff members.
“International tourists will always be able to fly into Eastgate Airport and use private transfer services to get to the Manyeleti/Orpen area, but our new daily service will provide a far more affordable alternative.”
A current one-way ticket for the service costs R1 150 (€70).

The shuttle departs the airport daily at 06h45. The return trip will pick up passengers between 09h15 and 10h15, depending on location, and is estimated to arrive at OR Tambo at 17h00.
