Great Plains Conservation Zimbabwe has opened a new tented camp, Mpala Jena, in a private concession within the Zambezi National Park in Victoria Falls, overlooking a beautiful stretch of the Zambezi River and in the shade of indigenous trees.
Accommodation is in four tents that are decorated with Moroccan influences and have views of the river. Decking in front of each tent leads to a private plunge pool with views of the Zambezi River.
Mpala Jena is solar powered, making it one of the environmentally innovative camps in the park.
Great Plains Conservation CEO, Dereck Joubert, says the company will continue to invest in the tourism sector in various parts of the country, including Mana Pools and, to date, US$12.5m has been invested in various tourism initiatives in Zimbabwe.
