Elephant Song Trail, a new walking safari from Sense of Africa Botswana, opened at Hyena Pan Tented Camp on May 20.
The trail tracks the bull elephants that roam the Khwai Concession on the border of Moremi Game Reserve.
Guests can enjoy a minimum of seven-kilometre walks through the concession and finish at the platforms, accompanied by a guide.
The platforms are elevated hides with en-suite bathrooms and sunset views of the waterhole, with wildlife such as buffalo, kudu, and elephant.
Guests will sleep on top of the platforms under mosquito nets.
“We had sundowners on one platform and the sunsets from there are incredible – the waterhole is already popular with the ellies as they were there the entire time we were,” said Nicola Brebner, Sense of Africa Botswana consultant. “We also saw six Wild Dog and six hyena a short drive from the platforms; so the walks will be amazing.”
The walking safari starts and ends with a night at Hyena Pan Tented Camp.
