The Palazzo Hotel at Montecasino, Sandton, recently received a comprehensive refurbishment that included the transformation of all rooms as well as the addition of a new restaurant and function venue. It marks a R60 million investment made by Tsogo Sun, as part of its organic growth strategy.
The refurbishment of the rooms, which was completed one wing (25 rooms) at a time, has seen them receive a contemporary colour palette in elegant fabrics and wall finishes. “Much of the existing furniture was retained and either modified, reupholstered or recoloured,” the hotel said. New 102cm LED TVs were also added on new stands.
In addition to the room refurbishment, a new function venue, Rosa, was built in the garden alongside the colonnade leading through to the Montecasino complex. “The introduction of Rosa will enable us to meet the demand for overflow breakfast and function space,” says Robert Jasper, gm of the Palazzo Montecasino.
