The Tourism Business Council of Zimbabwe (TBCZ) has elected a new leadership to revive and grow the tourism industry, post-COVID-19.
TBCZ President (outgoing), Winnie Muchanyuka, announced the new council: Wengayi Nhau (President), Innocent Manyera (Vice President, Hospitality Cluster), Karen Tumazos (Vice President, Access Cluster) and John Laing (Vice President, Activities Cluster).
Nhau said the council would work closely with government to grow the tourism sector and highlight obstacles to growth. “We do not currently have direct [air] links between Zimbabwe and the international market. We currently have connections through Addis Ababa (Ethiopian Airlines), Dubai (Emirates), Doha (Qatar Airways), and Nairobi (Kenya Airways). We will continue to engage Government to have direct flights into Zimbabwe to cut travelling time,” he said.
