From next year, Proflight Zambia will not fly into Royal Aerodrome (Airstrip), which services many of the lodges in the Lower Zambezi National Park.
Providing a solution, SkyTrails has agreed to operate the service to the airstrip from Lusaka.
The per-person rates are available from March 1 to November 30, 2019.
- One person: $495
- Two people: $247
- Three plus: $195
Included in the above fare, are the Passenger Safety Charges of $5, applicable for domestic departures from all airfields in Zambia.
The above airfares do not cover domestic departure tax, which is $20 per person. However SkyTrails will pay this to avoid passengers having to queue to pay, therefore passengers are advised to add this to the rate quoted. (This is only applicable to departures from Lusaka.)
If passengers are connecting from a flight from any other Zambian national airport on the same day, no domestic tax is payable. Passengers will need to be able to show their ticket or receipt showing domestic departure tax was paid for at departure from a national airport that day.
The access fees for Royal Aerodrome are $17.50 per person on arrival and departure.
Baines’ River Camp.
Should clients need to be routed via Jeki, Baines’ River Camp will meet guests and transfer them by road to the camp, a two- to three-hour trip. Refreshments will be sent with the vehicle for the guests. Due to the longer journey and subsequent increased operational costs, the camp will charge $50 per person each way. This will apply to all new enquiries.
