THE bottle manufacturing company, Afriglass, proposes to develop a glass container manufacturing plant near Eerste River in Faure, Western Cape.

The project has spurred protests from local tour operators, product owners and residents that fear the glass bottle factory will have a huge impact on some of the area’s major tourist attractions in the Cape Winelands. Application for the consolidation of properties and the installation of the services are currently underway with the deadline for public comment on a draft scoping report being February 23.
