Rwanda is expecting to generate $74 million from the conference tourism sector by June.
According to Nelly Mukazayire, Rwanda Convention Bureau (RCB) CEO, the country is expecting notable international conferences this year, which should boost the tourism sector. “2019 looks brighter with a calendar that has a number of events listed, with numerous notable international conferences, among them the Africa Fine Coffee Exhibition, which is expected to bring in 1 500 international delegates; along with the Africa CEO forum scheduled for March 25 and 26, bringing together top CEOs from across Africa.”
RCB has further set a target of $88 million in the 2019/2020 year. Mukazayire said this would be achieved by aggressively marketing Rwanda as a tourist destination, and creating partnerships with private and public institutions and embassies to sell the country.
