Shipwreck Lodge recently opened in Namibia’s famous Skeleton Coast Central Concession, between the Hoarusib and Hoanib Rivers, in the Skeleton Coast Park.

Katja Haase, Marketing Manager of the lodge told Tourism Update that they are excited about the opening of their new lodge which kicked off business on June 1. “We are very excited to see how this beautiful idea is finally falling into place, and that we are able to show this untouched area of Namibia to our visitors.”

Shipwreck Lodge offers eight shipwreck-shaped twin/double rooms, and two family cabins, all en-suite and solar powered. Each room has a shower, toilet and washbasin, complemented with guest amenities, including a writing desk, bedside lamp and a wood-burning stove. A small coffee and tea station with a hot water flask (delivered to the room by a staff member) is included, for each guest’s convenience.

Day excursions to the Möwe Bay seal colony, a sundowner drive to the roaring dunes, full-day Hoarusib River excursion, fishing and beach lunches (weather permitting) are activities on offer.

Shipwreck is located between the Hoarusib and Hoanib Rivers, 40km north of Möwe Bay. The lodge is on the southern bank of the Hoarusib River Mouth, nestled between the dunes with a view of the Atlantic Ocean.
