Tanzania is set to welcome 10 000 Chinese tourists before the end of this year, flying into the country with Ethiopian Airlines.
According to, He Liehui, Chairman of the Shanghai-based Touchroad International Holdings Group, the first group of 300 visitors is expected to arrive between February and March, and will visit the famous attractions at Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti National Park.
In November last year, Touchroad signed a contract with the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) to promote destination Tanzania in China. TTB will assist Touchroad with securing accommodation and transport services during the Chinese tourists’ stay in the country.
Liehui was recently on a three-day visit to Tanzania, to further discuss the contract. He celebrated Chinese New Year with the locals, accompanied by 33 artists from Shanghai. During his visit, Liehui encouraged Tanzanians to learn more about Chinese culture and language, to attract more Chinese investment and tourists to the country.
Touchroad also recently launched Tour Africa – New Horizon Project Zimbabwe Chapter, a tourism package that will see Zimbabwe receive 350 tourists monthly from China, starting in March.
