Thompsons Africa is offering two free package options for children holidaying in South Africa, accompanied by a full paying adult, following the announcement by UK Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, that Air Passenger Duty on economy flights from the UK for children under 12 is to be abolished from May 1.
The first option is a four-night package to The Palace of the Lost City, meet and greet at OR Tambo International Airport, private return transfers to The Palace in a seven-seat vehicle and four nights’ accommodation in a superior luxury family room on a bed and breakfast basis. Children also get free access to Valley of the Waves.
The second option is a two-night stay at Nkambeni Tented Lodge in the Kruger National Park, which includes a private transfer in a seven-seat vehicle from OR Tambo International Airport to Hazyview, transfer to the lodge, accommodation in luxury timber and canvas suites on a full-board basis, and a transfer back to the airport on day three.
The lodge has a restaurant that offers local South African food. Open-vehicle safaris, bushwalks, bush braais and night drives are available on request, weather permitting.
