All the divisions of Southern Africa's leading integrated tourism group, Tourvest, got together to prepare hotdogs for kids at the General Christian De Wet Primary School in Sophiatown on World Tourism Day (September 27).
“This kind of community involvement and support is a fantastic way to celebrate and promote local heritage and tourism. The core value of Tourvest as an integrated group is to constantly give back to the communities, and celebrating Heritage Month and World Tourism Day in this way is a meaningful way to showcase the importance of preserving cultural heritage and promoting tourism, especially among the younger generation,” Struan Langlands, Marketing and Communications Manager at Tourvest Destination Management told Tourism Update.
Tourvest decided to celebrate Heritage Month and World Tourism Day in the township due to its culture and heritage of jazz music, literature, and theatre.
