UK-based sports tour operator, MSG Tours, has included visits to Eswatini as part of its tours during the rugby test matches between the Springboks and the British and Irish Lions.
The rugby tour will take place across South Africa in July 2021, and MSG Tours is offering unofficial fan tours for British rugby supporters. Matches scheduled for the tour are due to take place in Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Pretoria, Johannesburg and Durban – and MSG Tours has included excursions into Eswatini for guests to experience more of Southern Africa between matches.
Assisting MSG Tours in Eswatini is a local charity, SKRUM. SKRUM uses rugby to educate the local children about HIV/AIDS, leadership, gender issues and the benefits of education.
MSG Tours has launched an initiative through which SKRUM and three South African charities will receive a share of R1 million (€50 000).
Founder of SKRUM, Michael Collinson, said the money would go towards establishing a broader reach for SKRUM and help it to implement its programme at more schools.
