Bateleur Main Camp, in the Timbavati Reserve in Hoedspruit, will undergo renovations during May and June.
The camp will remain open during the renovations and work will take place between guest bookings to avoid disruptions. The central dining, relaxation and pool areas will be upgraded and expanded, which will take about two months.
New facilities will include a large covered dining, bar area, a lounge, and library area which will be partially under cover and partially open-air. Everything will be built on wooden decking and the entire new area will have open sides, affording a 180-degree view of the dry riverbed and the bush. Further wooden decking will be added alongside the pool to increase that open-air area which enjoys the same view of the riverbed.
A seasonal waterhole will be constructed in the dry riverbed directly in front of the camp, allowing guests to enjoy close up sightings of the area’s wildlife.
