Faster clearing of travellers through Kazungula Border Post in Zimbabwe is now possible with the addition of five new clearing counters and a holding shed that can hold 100 people.
The addition was facilitated by the Zimbabwe Immigration Department in partnership with the Hospitality Association of Zimbabwe, as part of its efforts to expedite the clearing of tourists.
Victoria Falls Regional Immigration officer, Vincent Mukombero, says Kazungula handles between 400 and 700 travellers per day. “This means we could have more officers working at the border post, hence improving on efficiency because there are now more clearing points.”
Kazungula is the gateway for tourists using the Kavango-Zambezi (Kaza) uni-visa and who intend to visit Chobe National park in Botswana, as well as those travelling to Namibia, Zambia and Botswana.
