ANEW Resort Hunters Rest in Rustenburg, North West, was the first of six recently acquired hotels to receive the group’s rebrand, said ANEW Hotels and Resorts CEO, Clinton Armour.

This follows the acquisition of the Fortis Group in August. The ANEW stable now comprises 10 hotels and resorts countrywide.

“We’re so excited to add ANEW Resort Hunters Rest to our growing portfolio, because it has such an amazing history and is an integral part of the tourism story in this part of the world,” said Armour.

He added that the property’s proximity to the Kgaswane Nature Reserve, along with the business and MICE facilities, made it the group’s flagship resort.

Facilities include two swimming pools, one of which is heated, a spa, a nine-hole mashie golf course, putt-putt and a kids’ play park. “The new adventure centre with hiking, quad biking, archery, paintball, mini soccer, volleyball, mountain biking, and bicycle rental is a massive drawcard,” said Armour.

“ANEW’s focus on pricing and product distribution, combined with a strong focus on harnessing technology to improve the guest experience will be the biggest benefits to the hotel,” said General Manager of the resort, Pieter Buitendag.

ANEW was one of the first hotel groups in South Africa to introduce a hospitality app ensuring that visitors’ experiences are health and safety compliant and uncompromised.
