The hotel group will be part of the Business Ambition for 1.5°C campaign and will join the UNFCCC Race to Zero campaign as part of a globally co-ordinated effort to reach the goal of nett zero.
Last year the group reduced its carbon footprint by 23% and reduced 13% of its water footprint compared with 2019.
In line with the group’s renewable energy transition strategy, more than 56 properties already run 100% on renewable electricity.
Radisson has also increased the number of properties equipped with electric car charging stations to nearly 500. Radisson Meetings, which provides tailored solutions for events and meetings, is 100% carbon neutral and has offset 37 800 tons of carbon since 2019.
Radisson Hotels Safety Protocol was introduced in the group's Responsible Business Report after all its hotels completed a third-party validation by SGS, a leading testing, inspection and certification multinational firm. Currently, 133 hotels have been certified by Safehotels.
The Hotel Group has supported 12 environmental and social carbon offsetting projects in China, India, Peru, the US, Turkey and Borneo through its 100% Carbon Neutral Meetings initiative.
