Sun City has welcomed back Africa’s most famous golf tournament, the Nedbank Golf Challenge, for its 40th edition, from November 10-13.
After three years of waiting, the 2019 champion, Tommy Fleetwood, eventually got the chance to defend his title at the event, known as Africa’s Major. In front of a packed Sunday afternoon crowd, the Englishman emerged victorious with a score of 11 below par. Here, Fleetwood narrowly misses a long putt from off the green at the 18th. The tap-in par was still enough for him to secure the win and net the prize money of just over US$1 million.
Emirates Airline hosted Tourism Update at the event. Celebrating 25 years in South Africa, Emirates is now focusing on rapidly restoring its South African services to pre-pandemic levels, reaching 49 flights a week by May 2023.
