Air Belgium welcomed the Belgian Royal Family onboard its direct flight to South Africa on the occasion of King Philippe and Queen Mathilde’s recent state visit.
They attended a series of business and government meetings, as well as cultural exchanges and tours of the country's many landmarks.
The visit highlighted the strong relationship and economic ties between Belgium and South Africa. Since 1994 there has been an exchange of numerous high-level visits, but this was the first state visit by the royal couple.
“Our direct flights between Brussels and Johannesburg provide not only convenience for travellers, but also valuable economic opportunities. The presence of the Belgian Royal Family highlights the mutual respect and admiration between the two nations. We believe this visit is a significant milestone for Air Belgium, and we look forward to the many opportunities that will arise as a result of it,” said Niky Terzakis, Air Belgium CEO.
