A business complex offering accommodation and other facilities has opened in Beitbridge, Zimbabwe.
The Makhado Complex consists of a 28-room lodge, a petrol station, Internet café, bakery, supermarket, salon, bar, restaurant and two conference facilities, amongst others.
Makhado Spokesperson, Danisa Moyo, said the lodge had 12 deluxe rooms and 16 standard rooms.
“The two conference halls can accommodate 1 000 people in the bigger hall and 50 in the smaller venue,” he said.
The complex is about 100km from Beitbridge town along Beitbridge-Bulawayo highway.
“The mall is strategically located to accommodate people travelling to Gwanda, Bulawayo and Victoria Falls, among others. As the tourism sector is gradually reopening, the facility is expected to benefit from renewed business interest,” Moyo said.
“The location is also good for those going to Tuli National Park via Zezani, which is about 65km away, or those visiting tourist resorts and safaris between Gwanda and Beitbridge. These include Bubye Valley, Zhovhe Dam, Sentinel safaris, Nottingham Estates and Maramani communal lands, which falls under the greater Mapungubwe Transfrontier Conservation Area.”
