This September Ulusaba Private Game Reserve will be inviting guests to celebrate South Africa’s Arbor month; offering the perfect opportunity to go beyond the adventures of the bush and help to change the lives of others within the local community.
Arbor Month’s mission is to improve quality of life and create sustainable settlements by giving low-income communities fruit or indigenous trees to plant at their homes in South Africa. Trees still supply the basic elements of life: oxygen, water vapour, food, shelter and fuel and are an efficient way to offset carbon emissions which contribute to global warming.
Pride ‘n’ Purpose, Ulusaba’s charitable arm, will welcome guests to the local village of Dumphries and invite them to help plant fruit trees. For those looking to ‘dig deep’ they can purchase a tree for ZAR500 before rolling up their sleeves to personally plant it, or alternatively a tree can be planted on their behalf for ZAR250. Planting a tree is a fantastic way to keep the memories of Ulusaba alive, and the team will send updates on the progress of the tree and the local community long after the plane has departed to travel home.
Until the end of November Ulusaba will be offering guests booking a stay of 4 nights or more their final night for free!
