Ethiopian Airlines will extend its free transit tour to international passengers from February 1.
The complimentary city tour package, organised by Ethiopian Holidays, takes transiting passengers who have six to eight hours’ free time, into the capital, Addis Ababa, on a journey through one of the landmarks in the city, the National Museum of Ethiopia. Passengers also get the opportunity to do some souvenir shopping at affordable prices and taste Ethiopian coffee.
Group CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, Tewolde GebreMariam said: “As travel has gone digital with our innovative technology solutions, including Ethiopia Mobile App and online platforms, the huge influx of transit passengers in Addis Ababa can enjoy a personalised, end-to-end travel experience.”
Ethiopian Mobile App enables passengers to secure their visa electronically within four hours from any part of the world; book their flights; pay online using credit or debit cards, mobile money, e-Wallets and bank transfers; check in and issue boarding passes seamlessly.
GebreMariam said the airline was pleased to come up with complimentary offerings for its global transiting passengers, giving them a real taste of Addis Ababa during their brief stay.
“While promoting Ethiopia and its beautiful capital, Addis Ababa, as tourist destinations, we will keep promoting initiatives tailored to provide our ever-growing customers with a unique and unforgettable travel experience.”
