A number of changes to Ghost Mountain Inn will be presented at May’s Africa Travel Indaba.
“We have launched 24 new Mountain View rooms that include a second wheelchair-friendly room and three suites. These spacious Mountain View rooms offer great views of the gardens, new pool and jetty towards the Lebombo Mountains in the distance,” remarks Craig Rutherfoord, MD.
The suites are between 130 and 150sqm with a large bedroom and dressing room, a bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers and a deep stand-alone tub. The living space offers a seating area with a guest WC, a small kitchenette and a wide veranda.
“Additionally, the suites share a lobby with the adjoining room which allows us to offer two bedroom suites for families and groups of friends,” says Rutherfoord.
The Mountain View guestrooms feature either extra-length king or three-quarter beds, with a day bed to accommodate a third person if necessary. The bathroom offers a deep soaking tub and separate shower.
“As the hotel has grown through the years, it has enveloped the original pool, so it was time to build a second pool at the bottom of the garden,” comments Rutherfoord. “The new 20m pool offers plenty of space to cool down from the Zululand heat. The deck with pool bar is the ideal place to spend lazy days or unwind after a morning game drive or boat cruise with Ghost Mountain Safaris. A new boma has been built for outdoor dining and Zulu dancing in the evening.”
The spa has also been rebuilt and now has four treatment rooms and a new retail area, steam room, private relaxation area and garden. A package for evening treatments – the Sundowner package – has been added to the spa menu and includes bath and steam pampering and a Terre d’Afrique Aroma massage.
The KwaZulu Natal property now offers an all-inclusive rate that incorporates dinner, breakfast and a local activity. This could be an uMkhuze game drive; a boat cruise on Lake Jozini; a Lebombo Mountain scenic drive; a Zulu cultural experience, comprising a visit to a local homestead; various hikes in the area; or any 60-minute spa treatment.
