Kenyan carrier, Fly-SAX has rebranded to East African, and will introduce four weekly flights from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport to Lokichogio in the Turkana District, starting February 27.

George Kivindyo, former Chief Executive of Fly-SAX and current Accountable Manager for East African explained the reasons behind the rebranding. “We have gone back to our original name ‘East African’ since we believe it is more aligned to our business objectives at the moment.”
Fly-SAX was established in December 2010 by CEO and Founder, Don Smith, following the purchase of East African Safari Air Express.
East African is a premier safari and private charter airline based in Nairobi, operating from both Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and Wilson Airport.
According to Kivindyo, the Lokichogio route will be operated by a Beechcraft 1900D, with a configuration of 16 seats; however he says this might change to a Q100, depending on passenger loads.
The flight schedule is as follows:
Monday
- Depart Wilson Airport at 06h30 – arrive in Lokichogio at 08h15.
- Depart Lokichogio at 08h35 – arrive at Wilson Airport at 10h15.
Wednesday
- Depart Wilson Airport at 09h30 – arrive in Lokichogio at 11h15.
- Depart Lokichogio at 11h35 – arrive at Wilson Airport at 13h15.
Friday and Sunday
- Depart Wilson Airport at 14h00 – arrive in Lokichogio at 15h45.
- Depart Lokichogio at 16h05 – arrive at Wilson Airport at 17h45.
