KLM will start direct flights between Amsterdam and Mombasa from October 31.
The airline said the flights would operate on Thursdays and Sundays using a Boeing 787-9 aircraft. Mombasa will be combined with Nairobi on the return flight to Amsterdam.
Flight KL0563 will depart from Amsterdam at 10h10 and arrive in Mombasa at 20h50. The flight will then depart Mombasa at 21h40 and arrive in Nairobi at 22h50. Flight KL0563 will depart from Nairobi at 23h59 and arrive in Amsterdam at 06h25 the next day.
KLM is expanding its network targeting where recovery from COVID-19 pandemic will be quickest, offering customers the broadest possible choice of destinations.
KLM General Manager East Africa, Arthur Dieffenthaler, said the flights to Mombasa would target increasing numbers of leisure travellers. “The rising number of tourists visiting Mombasa, not just from Europe but also the rest of the world, signifies the growing interest in the unique experiences the coastal city has to offer.”
