As the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism Namibia prepares to host the sixth Africa Youth in Tourism Innovation Summit and Challenge (AYTIS), the Namibian tourism private sector has pledged to support the Summit in various ways.
The AYTIS is scheduled to take place at Windhoek Country Club Resort from May 28-31 and will be held in collaboration with UN Tourism, the African Continental Free Trade Area, Namibia Tourism Board, Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board, New Partnership for Africa's Development, and BDO.
Owing to the success of the previous editions of the Summit, this year the event has attracted partnerships from the private sector that include tour operators such as Sandwich Dune and Tours and Safari, hospitality giants like Hilton Windhoek, higher learning institutions such as the Namibia University of Science and Technology, and many more partners from Namibia.
Speaking about the partnership deal, CEO of Sandwich Dune Tours and Safari, Kenneth Kapitako, said: “We are delighted to accept the opportunity to partner on this exciting initiative. We believe this collaboration will be mutually beneficial and contribute positively to the promotion of youth innovation in tourism across Africa.”
Sandwich Dune Tours and Safari offers a wide range of services including the Sandwich Harbour Adventure tours, eco-kayaking, boat cruises, and several other water-based activities.
Registrations for both physical and virtual participants for the Summit are still ongoing. Interested persons can visit www.youthtourismsummit.com for more information.
