The Box Shop opened on April 8 in Vilakazi Street, Soweto, South Africa, in collaboration with Technoserve and Citi.
The Box Shop houses brands from 15 entrepreneurs within the fashion, furniture, accessories, and food industries and includes a coffee shop on site.

“I’ve been in South Africa for two and a half years now and any time that I have guests who come in from out of town and whenever my kids are getting a little bored we race on over to Soweto. We come to Vilakazi because this is the heart of almost where your republic was born,” said US Ambassador to South Africa, Patrick Gaspard.

According to Technoserv, the Box Shop is a culmination of years of in promoting enterprise development in South Africa, with a view to alleviating poverty and unemployment.
