Botswana has signed for the construction of one-stop border post (OSBP) facilities at the Kazungula border on the Zambian side. The facilities are expected to be complete by the end of 2018.
Pius Seone, Project Manager in Botswana, told Tourism Update that the OSBP facilities would enhance transit time for tourists crossing between Zambia and Botswana.
“Tourists will no longer be queuing with cargo trucks transiting through the border. We have separated the two,” he said.
He said instead of tourists having to wait on the Botswana and Zambian sides, they would have one centralised service.
The facilities are being built concurrently with the new 923m-long Kazungula bridge.
