A new 100%-black-owned hotel operator will enter the local market with a R280 million Hampton by Hilton hotel to be built in Sandton.

The hotel is part of a deal between Afrirent Holdings, Top Toyo Investments and Indalo Hotels & Leisure Management.

The property will be managed by Indalo Hotels & Leisure Management through a franchise agreement with the Hampton by Hilton brand under the wider Hilton brand. 

The development will have 161 rooms – 108 standard rooms, seven accessible rooms, 44 family rooms and two deluxe rooms. The property will be on the corner of Grayston Drive and West Road South and is expected to be completed by December 2020.

The hotel is set to be joined by a block of serviced apartments, although no further details have been given.
